  14. Close the Internet Information Services (ISS) Manager.

Allowing FTP through the Firewall

  1. Finally, you will need to allow FTP through your firewall.  If you are using a 3rd party firewall, please contact your network administrator for further assistance.

Go to the main page of your Control Panel and ensure that View by: is set to Small icons.   Click on Windows Defender Firewall.

  2. In the window that opens, choose Allow a program (an app) or feature through Windows Firewall.

  3. In the next window, if necessary, click on the Change Settings button to allow for changes to take place.

  4. Scroll down and locate the FTP Server option.  Be sure that the box for Private is checked.  Then click OK and close all open windows.

Note: If the computer is on a domain and you use a domain user to log into the FTP site, be sure that the Domain box is also checked.

That's it!

Testing the FTP site

Prior to connecting and testing the DN-900R, the FTP site can be tested directly from any other computer on the same network to ensure that it is set up properly.  Todo so:

  1. Open an internet browser or explorer window on a second computer that is connected to the same network.

  2. In the address bar, type ftp://###.###.###.### (<- the IP address of the FTP server).

  3. If everything is set up properly, you will be prompted to enter the User name and Password previously set up.  Enter the requested information and choose Log on. You will be able to access the FTP folder.

Note: If you cannot access the FTP site from another computer on the same network after following all of the steps above, please contact your local network administrator.
